Career counseling begins with a Career Action Planning (CAP) session. In this 90-120-minute meeting, we'll explore your career problem and come up with a plan to solve it. I'll identify what's working, what needs attention, and outline the steps you can take to solve the problem.
Beyond the CAP session, I coach people on a start-to-finish project basis. I provide structure, strategy, and support to help you define and achieve your career objectives. Although there's a basic process I use, our work is personalized for you and your circumstances.
Compared to a more traditional, haphazard job-search approach (responding to posted openings, hoping to get a response, trying not to act as confused or desperate as you feel) career counseling is an investment that can pay for itself. Developing a clear sense of direction and conducting a focused, strategic and active search will shorten the time to find rewarding work.
Among those who have benefited most from my career counseling services are mid-career, college-educated people in law, medicine, sales, social services, financial services, the arts, technology, and education.
